How it works

From catalogue to confident shortlist

Bloodstock AI fits the way you already work a sale — it just makes every step faster, clearer and better informed.

1

Pick your sale

Choose the sale and book you're buying at. The full catalogue is loaded and ready — searchable and filterable in an instant.

2

Filter to your program

Set your budget, preferred distance profile and risk appetite. Bloodstock AI surfaces the lots that genuinely fit what you're buying for.

3

Open the AI report

Each lot has a report covering pedigree, physical profile, likely distance range, value guidance and risk flags — every score explained.

4

Shortlist, inspect, decide

Add lots to your Black Book, capture inspection notes and photos at the barn, compare your picks side by side, and head to the ring prepared.

Inside every report

Every score, explained

We believe an insight you can't understand is an insight you can't trust. Every number in a Bloodstock AI report comes with the reasons behind it, a confidence level, and a note on what data it's based on.

Concept visualisation

Pedigree score

How strong the page is for the racing profile and market segment you're buying in — sire, dam and family, in context.

Physical & movement profile

Insights drawn from conformation photos and walking videos, with visual overlays showing what was assessed.

Distance profile

The trip this horse is most likely bred and built for — sprint, mile, middle distance or staying — with a confidence level.

Value guidance

An expected price band to plan your budget against, always shown as a range with its uncertainty — never a false single number.

Risk indicators

Clear low / moderate / high flags where the analysis sees something worth a closer look, with the reason spelled out.

Overall view & buy rating

Everything brought together into a single at-a-glance rating — with the full reasoning one tap away.

Important: Bloodstock AI's risk indicators are decision-support tools, not veterinary diagnoses. Where a concern is flagged, we always recommend inspection by a qualified veterinarian.
Built for sale day

Designed for the barns, not the boardroom

Sales are fast, bright, noisy and often short on signal. Bloodstock AI is built for exactly that.

Instant everything

Lot lookup, search and filters respond immediately — no waiting between barns when a horse is about to walk.

📶

Works offline

Your catalogue, shortlist and notes stay available even when barn coverage drops out. Everything syncs when you're back online.

👍

One-handed use

Big touch targets and a fast note-taking flow, because your other hand is usually holding a catalogue — or a lead rope.

📝

Structured inspections

Checklists, tags and photos keep every inspection consistent — and easy to review when you're deciding between your top picks.

🤝

Team collaboration

Share shortlists and notes with clients, advisors or your syndicate so everyone is working from the same page.

📄

Export & report

Turn your shortlist into a clean PDF or spreadsheet — with scores and notes — for clients and post-sale review.

FAQ

Common questions

Does Bloodstock AI replace my own judgement or my agent?

No — and it's not meant to. Bloodstock AI is decision support. It helps you cover the whole catalogue, spot horses you might otherwise miss, and organise your inspections. The final call is always yours, and agents get just as much value from the platform as buyers do.

How do I know I can trust the scores?

Because we show our reasoning. Every score comes with the key reasons behind it and a confidence level, and we tell you when data is missing or thin. If you disagree with a score, you can see exactly why it was given.

Is this a veterinary service?

No. Risk indicators highlight things that may warrant a closer look, but they are not diagnoses. We always recommend a qualified veterinarian for any lot you're serious about.

Which sales are covered?

We're launching with New Zealand Bloodstock's Karaka sales, with more sales to follow. Join the beta and tell us where you buy — it directly shapes our roadmap.

Will it work in the barns with bad reception?

Yes. The app is built offline-first: your catalogue, shortlists and notes are stored on your device and sync automatically when you're back in coverage.
